Tazo Chai Concentrate (Starbucks brand)

This is the tea that Starbucks uses for its tea lattes and other beverages. What is this? Starbucks uses a special (and more concentrated) version of the Tazo Chai Concentrate that is not sold commercially.

Ingredients: Infusion of (Water, Black Tea, Black Pepper, Ginger, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cloves, Star Anise, Natural Flavors), Cane Sugar, Honey, Ginger Juice, Natural Flavors, Vanilla Extract, Citric Acid.

Caffeine content is estimated at less than 10 mg per serving (versus 100-150 mg in Arabica coffee). Contains a combination of natural and artificial sweeteners. Compatible with Keurig® K-Cup® pod single-serve coffee makers.

The traditional Starbucks chai tea latte is made with chai concentrate syrup, hot water, and steamed milk. The chai concentrate is the source of the sugar. You can always request a chai tea latte made with chai tea bags, no syrup. The only sugar in this would be from the milk.
