  I really liked how Chad ran the course. Instead of midterms we had 7 weekly quizzes, & assignments were marked based on participation instead of correctness. He also wrote his own document as a reference throughout this course which I found very easy to follow along. Lectures explained everything very well and there were no surprises on the exams.

  I think Chad was a great professor. My biggest regret would be not taking him for 101. For MATH 100, his quizzes were easy, and he provided us with sample papers before hand. During lectures, if a topic was important enough for final, he would inform us before hand about the weightage of that topic. pretty chill guy too.

  For higher-level math majors/minors, I believe Chad is a great prof. His lectures clearly build off one another with ample examples. However, sometimes the class can be hard to follow as he chugs along in a proof while you are still trying to understand step 2. Weekly quizzes that are not too hard if you are staying up with the content.

  Honestly I have never met a professor who took so much notes. Each class was very exhausting because you had to keep copying notes until the class was over. But as long as you understand his notes, you can still get a good grade. His quizzes are not easy and you will hardly have any time to check. He is strict, but he is also a good man.

  Chad is a decent guy, but he's an extremely tough prof with a hard exams. While Stat 303 is difficult, he made it unreasonably so with how many formulas we had to memorize especially for the final. Completely defeats the purpose of the course.

  Pretty average experience. Lots of proofs. STAT 303 is not an easy course- but Dr Davis knows his stuff and provides clear steps to problems. Assignments were challenging and time consuming but plenty of office hrs for help. Tests were fair but not easy.

  He's the better math100 prof (after comparing with 25+ people). Good lecture examples and he gives practice problem. DO THEM. His lectures move really fast and are jam packed with info. Easier if have taken Calculus. He's a quirky dude. Be prepared :). Don't ask stupid questions. There's always one kid don't be that person he'll be done so fast

  Harder prof imo (compared to other MATH 101 profs), but hes a solid man. Kind of an odd ball tho. Take Javad if you want a really good mark (honestly). This mans tests are solid, midterm is harder than them. Just dont fall behind on the content, and try to really understand it.

  Lots of people give Chad a low rating because they are bad at math and want to blame someone. He is a good professor and goes over the material thoroughly. Whenever there is a topic that is likely to be part of a midterm or final, he often lets us know. Math is a tough subject so be prepared for a decent workload, but he is a good professor.

  I have taken 5 classes with Chad and I think he is a great professor. To think about it, I have taken a class with him at each 100 level, and it has been super easy to walk into his office multiple times a day to get doubts clarified- without having to think twice. Always pushes to your limit and is there to encourage you when you need it- 10/10!

  Chad provides lots of practice material for the class and lets you know what kind of questions will be on the midterm and finals. Recommend going to every lecture, reviewing the class material every week and completing the practice midterms. He thoroughly goes through multiple practice problems in class which is extremely helpful.

  Math 101 was a very challenging course. Even after taking AP calculus in high school I struggled with the material in this course. He overcomplicates his explanations of topics and expects everyone to memorize proofs for exams.

  I took him for calculus and really enjoyed every single lecture.He is definitely a great guy, further giving midterm and final practice papers, which are really helpful for the final preparation. Only tip, no matter what, don't miss the lecture and for God sake review your class work after every lecture and practise the different type of questions.

  I do not agree with the negative reviews Dr. Davis gets. He is one of the best professors at UBCO for Mathematics. He truly cares about the subject, how you do in the class and his lectures are extremely good, he goes over proofs in detail and knows his stuff in and out. Don't listen to the reviews, especially for upper year courses.

  I took math 100 with chad and I am currently taking math 101 with him, he is a great prof. Read his notes before class and he follows them almost word for word, that helped me a lot in the class. He loves math and you can tell. Sometimes he doesn't understand that something is difficult but other than that I would recommend him to everyone.

  If you're going into Math 100 without taking any calculus class previously, prepare to struggle. Every lecture feels like he's trying to speedrun the lesson. He can be bad at explaining new concepts, so if you're unfamiliar with calculus, you'll end up teaching yourself a lot of concepts and most likely will struggle.

  Good prof, don't understand the negative ratings. Gives lots of practice material, and practice exams were very accurate to the actual exams. Also uploads all of his notes to canvas which is very useful. Not super approachable but very accessible in terms of office hours. Lectures are theory heavy, sometimes overcomplicated but still good
