Her teaching style is fast. Homework > 15 hrs/wk. Tests are doable but tough. Very demanding course, time consuming. Overall grade calc-ed in 2 ways you get the higher one. Need 50% on final exam to pass regardless of your scores in midterms and hmwk. Work very hard if u take it, she's lenient on grading. Better attend lectures - they help u pass.

I like the material and content of this course. The prof however was very bad. She had 1.5hr (which is the minimum office hours required) on the day our weekly assignment was due. I once tried to contact her asking her about the assignment and she responded two weeks later.She only gave 25 min to do a normal sized midterm and then group 15 min.

Horrible prof. She made it incredibly difficult by giving ridiculously long assignments where 90% of the questions covered content she didn't even teach. Her tests were okay and the final was hard, but doable. Her lectures are a complete waste of time, over half the time when solving a problem she doesnt even show us the full steps or the algebra.

Rebecca Tyson is probably one of the hardest courses I've taken to date. It is not even due to the hard material, its because the assignments are essentially the hardest and longest questions you can pick for each unit as well as part-marks are practically non-existent. Her final exam is very hard and the average has been decreasing every year.

She really tries her best to teach the class but, fails miserably. The homework was really intensive and time consuming, taking on average 20hrs/hw. The midterms were doable, but the final was pretty hard. Overall, I have had an okay experience with this class. The course content is itself challenging rather than the professor's teaching skills.

The failure rate for this class goes up more and more every year; maybe Rebecca should ask herself what the common denominator is. I'd need much more than 300 characters to describe how poorly executed this class was. Avoid at all costs if this class is not a requirement.

Professor Tyson was my second favourite prof this year. She had very well done video lectures, and overall took advantage of the online setting. She managed to teach on of the hardest subjects in a manor that made sense - mostly - and utilized a quiz system that minimized cheating, forcing me to actually learn the material.

How students in Tyson's Math 225 class are graded: "quality of group presentation", "read the rando opinion piece I assigned that has nothing to do with math- quiz to follow", "did you provide a 'thoughtful' response to the politcal question asked in the (math) assignment", etc. This prof is an embarrassment to UBCO. Avoid at all costs.

First thing first, avoid Rebecca Tyson at all cost! Or 1: assignments will graded based on your presentation skills, each assignment rang from 6 hours to 12 hours plus. 2. test weekly, she thinks if she can write them in 10 min, students should be done in 12 min, so our average grade is below 50% most of time. 3. she ignores all your concerns.

Professor Tyson has made this class a huge struggle. The course structure is strange with lots of weekly duties and assignments, and she refuses to listen to feedback and concerns on them. Quizzes are weekly, and insufficient time is given to finish. Lectures only give short intro to topics and do not explain how to solve many problems.

If you want to get a good grade you need purchase a premium connection and scanner. Her main method of grading are timed assignments that are unrealistic for time. She is disrespectful towards students. She expects you to have already completed Math 221 and Math 220 before this course. Confusing lectures. Tries to have a low class average of 70%.

Rebecca teaches pretty well, but the way she conducts her class is horrible. There is never enough time for the tests, what she explains in class and what actually comes on the test is way different. Be prepared for a lot of group work; none of which Is fairly marked.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Oh wait, you cant because shes the only one teaching this course. At least a bunch of your grade is based on sucking up and explaining how you will do better on the next test. Worst. Ever. Shes aware of the classes attitude towards her and simply just does not care.

Ridiculous professor. Incredibly unapologetic about the absurd evaluation processes she has. She has clearly NEVER gone through one of her own evaluations (15 minute tests including scanning and upload times). Every class someone new tries to discuss with her alternatives... her answer "send me an email". She clearly doesn't like being called out.

Absolutely terrible teaching style online. Extremely unaccommodating, expects tests to be completed within 20 minutes, including scan and upload time. Very unforgiving. Also, tested on test material she uploads 2 days before the lecture, which gives absolutely no time to practice or understand concepts. Plus: She's very kind when engaging.

Quizs are time trials with you having to select which questions you want to skip to actually upload in time. No time provided to upload files for solutions. Very unforgiving for online difficulties/technical issues. Weird due dates for graded works. Content challenged on Quiz feels disjointed from Assignment and Lecture material.
